Our famous Startup Candy Suckers are handcrafted in Utah. It's beginnings started in 1823 in England when William Startup began making “American” cough candy. His son, William Dew Startup, pioneered candy making in Utah, bringing the first candy equipment across the plains in the 1860s and settling in Provo in the 1870s. Today, Startup employees continue to use the same recipes and passion for candy making.
