Joseph Smith pronounced hundreds of revelations, prophecies, and visions during his prophetic ministry. Most of these revelations are compiled today in the Doctrine and Covenants, one of the books of scripture of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, a substantial handful of Joseph Smith's revelatory or prophetic pronouncements have gone uncanonized in the Church. Using the foundational work of the Joseph Smith Papers Project, the authors have compiled these uncanonized revelations and made them accessible to Latter-day Saints by providing a new, standardized edition of each text and brief contextual commentary. These uncanonized revelations are important and worthy of study for how they help us gain a fuller understanding of the Prophet, his life, and his teachings.
