- “This past year, I had my own baby boy, and already had in mind the upcoming nativity show at the Prince. This piece, Breaeth of Heaven, is close to my heart, as it is me and my newborn baby who are the models in the painting. It illustrates the emotional and sacred first moments between Mary and baby Jesus. I could not and still cannot put into words the perfect love and overwhelming feelings I had for my sweet baby boy when he was first laid on my chest after a long and difficult labor. Those first moments being with him were so tender and sacred, I caught a glimpse of what mary must have felt when she spent her first moments with he baby. She felt what I felt, only much more, for she had just given birth to the Son of God. I wanted this painting to make people feel something. I wanted to give them a glimpse of what I felt, and what Mary must have felt after giving birth to Baby Jesus”
