Details

Mr. Chesser was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida. After a tour of duty in the United States Air Force, he returned to school and graduated from Brigham Young University with a B. S. and an M.S. in Geology. He has had a long and successful career as an exploration geologist in the American oil industry. He is also an accomplished fine arts artist working in pen and ink, scratchboard, watercolor, oils, and acrylics. As a scientific illustrator, he spent many years illustrating college textbooks as well as professional papers on the Grand Canyon, authored primarily by Professor W. Kenneth Hamblin.

The new Grand Canyon Perspectives has been enlarged from the original publication by the addition of more instructive graphics and text and is now in a color format and size to enhance the usefulness as a guide to the canyon experience. The panorama drawings were created originally utilizing photographic images produced by a handheld large format aerial camera, affectionately known as Big Bertha.
