Chaya Lindner live in Nazi-occupied Poland. Simply being Jewish her places her in constant danger of being killed or sent to the camps. After her little sister is taken away to a death camp and her younger brother disappears, Chaya decides to use forged papers and her fair features to become a courier, traveling between the isolated Jewish ghettos to smuggle food, documents, and even people.

 

Soon Chaya is drawn into more perilous work: She joins a resistance ell, but after a mission goes terribly wrong, many of her colleagues are arrested or killed. Chaya is alone and unsure of where to go, until a message arrives, sending her on a journey toward an even larger uprising in the works- in the Warsaw Ghetto.
